‘The series focuses on the clothing that women think they should wear, or are told what to wear, to impress someone in a sexual manner. There is a physical mark that is left from these clothes, showing the discomfort women go through.’
I understand the point the photographer is trying to make - women wear restricting clothing to conform to societal pressures.
However, I’m a man, and my boxers leave an impression around my waist too. And my socks leave an impression on my ankles. I don’t feel pressured to wear socks or underwear. I do it because it’s more comfortable… If a woman doesn’t want to wear a bra, she doesn’t have to. If she doesn’t want to wear a corset, she doesn’t have to. If she doesn’t want to wear underwear, she doesn’t have to. I’m probably going to get a ton of shit for this because I’m a cis white male, but I think this series of photos is kind of silly.
